Aren Collier County citizens just being asked to subsidize a private company here?
The Jackson Laboratory is a non-profit institution, and no individual gains financially from its research. If Jackson expanded in Collier County, the Laboratory would be an “anchor tenant” in a larger research and education village that would attract other institutions and companies, just as the creation of the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute has done at Lake Nona.
