The first set of students to come right through the ACE system in Ireland graduated from the Dundalk school (Grace Christian School) in 2001. All of them were accepted into their college/university of choice. Not all universities and colleges are familiar with ACE but ACE qualifications are listed in the UCAS handbook for entry into many English Universities and colleges e.g Oxford, Cambridge, Durham etc. (and hence Northern Irish ones too), but once ACE becomes more mainstream within the British system (National Framework of Qualifications) Ireland will follow suit. The National Qualifications Authority of Ireland (the governing body who decide whether or not a foreign /lesser known qualification is acceptable), have sent official Advisory correspondence to ACE graduates applying to Irish Universities and colleges informing them that the ACE level 3 award (The Advanced Certificate) .. is considered comparable to a Leaving Certificate in Ireland, which is placed at Levels 4 & 5 on the
