Not too surprised. But your interpretation of the poll is interesting, especially since you claim you’re not “spinning”. While less than a quarter have “great confidence”, most have “confidence” in the scientists. Some people just don’t like to be too extreme in their statements. It’s hardly a ringing endorsement of “scientists are lying”. And the number that believe it’s due to human activities FAR exceeds the number that believe it’s due to natural causes 49%-28%. The rest just don’t know. The US is pretty much the hotbed of global warming denial, most of the developed world has far more confidence it’s mostly due to us. The propaganda from the fossil fuel industry is more prevalent here. As far as global warming denial goes we’re up there with countries like Russia and China, which are far less educated.
