Are You Still Protected on The Nuva Ring “Ring Free Week”?
I have been using the NuvaRing for over a year and have had sex during the ring free week, haven’t gotten pregnant yet, knock on wood. It gives you a small dose of hormones everyday for 3 weeks and then obviously none that one week but it’s just like the placebo pills of birth control. You’re still protected because the hormones are in your system. I looked a quite a few NuvaRing websites and it doesn’t specifically say anywhere “it’s ok to have sex during the ring free week and not get pregnant” but *normal* women don’t ovulate during the ring free week so it would be unlikely to get pregnant.
