My mother has had a few mini-strokes and her balance has been terribly affected so she falls a lot. She has one of those little alert things that she wears and when she falls she can push it and I can go and take care of her, which allows me to rest much easier. The problems come on days like today when every time I turn around she is calling about something and try as I might I sometimes get annoyed with her. She is to that age where every little thing is a crisis and when she thinks of something that she thinks needs doing she wants it done yesterday. Thankfully other than the mini-strokes and normal aches and pains associated with aging she is in fairly good health but unfortunately I’m not and so I have serious problems catering to her the way that she would like. She goes through very demanding periods and finally my wife will remind her of why I can’t do everything she wants me to do and then she goes through a depressed period worrying about my health.
