Eligible pensioners are those aged 60+ (householder or spouse) who own their own home/ rent from a private landlord and: • have never had a central heating system, or; • have a system broken beyond repair and are in receipt of the Guarantee Element of Pension Credit, or; • have a system broken beyond repair and are aged 75 or over; • have a partial or inefficient system and are in receipt of the Guarantee Element of Pension Credit, or; • have a partial or inefficient system and are aged 80 or over. If you know of anyone who might be eligible please have them call Scottish Gas on 0800 316 1653 to register. There is a waiting list for the programme so people should apply now to get on the list and have the work done sometime next year.
