Are you allowed to have bonfires on Gold Coast (QLD, Australia) beaches?

I have spent years on the Gold Coast beaches and have never seen a bonfire so I guess the answer is a definite No but what I do see sometimes is people sitting around those little candles the ones that I think float in water they are in a little contaainer and not much bigger than a 50 cent piece and I’ve seen a ring of them . But also keep in mind one is not allowed alcohol on the beaches either . There are cameras the Police are constantly watching you. They have been really hard this year on the schoolies and many have been arrested or fined also for urinating on the beaches.
