Are women more commitment-phobic these days?
There’s a difference between being commitment-phobic and marriage-phobic. I’m more than willing to commit to a relationship, but don’t want anything to do with the repressive traditional stuff that comes with marriage. Lots of women I know are married or committed, but some are too tired after working and taking care of their kids to even think about dating.
A lot of my friends, my self included are commitment-phobic. Although past hurts play a part in it, the main reasons we stay so is because our single life has fallen into place very comfortably. I know I appreciate not having to consider someone else’s feelings when it comes to money, my home, or my schedule. It’s sort of like a feeling of freedom.
Yes.Most of my girl friends are,the close ones,and I am too.Because I’m not desperate to get in a relationship and I don’t wanna be judged as that.And women who eagerly commit are usually seen as desperate and prolly marriage fanatic(omg omg marry me! marry me for once!).Plus,I admit I got high standards.Complete honesty and fidelity is one of the things I require and is mandatory.And if I feel there isn’t enough of that,trust cannot take place,and therefore I cannot commit.Plus,I got major trust issues,it takes me AGES to come to trust someone.So….while my trust’s affected,I cannot commit.Sorry,but it’s how I work.
