Are Woman allowed to become FreeMasons?

0

Women can become Freemasons. However, they cannot become “Regular” Freemasons. This means that they cannot join or attend a Lodge that follows the edicts, bylaws and landmarks as outlined by the United Grand Lodge of England. There have been a couple of “Regular” female Freemasons over the centuries, but they are very few and far between. They joined under very different circumstances, such as overhearing a ritual. Women can join “Irregular” Freemasonry and “Co-Masonry”, which are both quite different from “Regular” Freemasonry. They can join a “Regular” appendant body of Freemasonry such as the Order of the Eastern Star, Ladies White Shrine, Amaranth, etc.
