Wetsuits are not allowed in accordance with FINA Rules (OWS 6.9). The water temperature is anticipated to be a comfortable 76˚F (24.4˚C) at the NYC Pro Swim. The discipline of Open Water Swimming is governed by FINA. The FINA Rule OWS 6.9 applies specifically to swimsuits and swim gear. That is, no swimmer is permitted to use or wear any device that may be an aid to their speed, endurance or buoyancy. Goggles, a maximum of two swim caps, a nose clip and earplugs may also be used.
