Are Weta Dollars still equivalent to New Zealand Dollars (NZD)?

No. Prior to 20 February 2009, Weta Dollars were equivalent to NZD. However we changed them to be equivalent to United States Dollars (USD) at the launch of our new website on 20 Feb 2009. This means your Weta Dollars reduced in absolute number (because the NZD is lower in value than the USD). However they are still the same overall value, just in a different currency (USD). We made this change because it will be easier for the majority of our customers, to understand the value of the USD, rather than the value of the NZD (a much smaller currency). The USD is the most common currency for international trade and we have more customers in the United States, than any other market.
