Are Westerners (N.America/Europe) taught from a young age to place money before human value?

Geez, this is a loaded question. This is less of an educational question than it is a cultural one. I can’t speak for Europe or all of North America. I do feel pretty certain there are no schools in the United States that teach pupils that monetary value is more important than those that apply to fellow human beings or the value one has for themselves. Certainly not as any part of a normal public school curriculum anyway. Nor do I believe that this is what most Europeans and inhabitants of North America believe and practice in daily life. There are always exceptions of course. Obviously ones views on values are not restricted to what is taught or learned in schools. There are peer, parental, and spirtual influences that help shape those views as well.
