Are Web addresses and e-mail addresses case sensitive?

0

Basically the beginning part of a Web address, the domain name (i.e. http://www.WebsiteCompass.com), is not case sensitive. Whether it’s all caps, all lower case, or a combination of the two, your browser will take you to the right website as long as you have spelled it correctly. However, if you are linking to a particular file or page on a website – depending on what kind of server the website is hosted on – you will need make sure the rest of the address is entered correctly (i.e. http://www.websitecompass.com/DrWebbie/Hello.htm) or it may not be found by the server. E-mail addresses are not case sensitive and can be typed in uppercase or lowercase.
