Are we suppose to read the credits at the end of each movies?
Hi Well it’s not compulsory nor mandatory to do anything with the credits but I find the following useful: 1. If I’m in the cinema and seeing a new film, I will stay in my seat until all the credits have scrolled through. I think this is respectful to the film-maker and a handy way of seeing the titles of the film’s music and the list of different contributors. 2. If I’m at home and possibly watching TV or a DVD then I am likely to be watching a second time ~ then, I don’t bother to watch the credits unless I particularly want to check something. 3. Essentially the credits are a point of reference for me ~ a source of factual information about the film ~ particularly useful when checking something years after the film has been made.
Sometimes it is a good idea to read the credits. I’ve noticed on a few films that I’ve watched (including Shrek) that if you watch till the end of the credits then there is one last scene that most people dont get to see. It happened on Gremlins too I believe and Critters. Some films do this so I always watch till the end, plus if there is a song in the film and you cant remember who sang it, it will tell you. Also I’ve noticed that sometimes there are famous actors/actresses in the films that you did not originally notice and the second time you watch it you do recognise them. It’s always interesting to see who did what.
