Are we required to provide public food waste and organic waste receptacles?
Businesses will eventually have to provide public waste separation receptacles for the public to separate their own waste (e.g. fast food restaurants and common food areas). Following the Nova Scotia model, businesses should supply waste separation containers with proper signage for the public to separate their own waste. Once the residents are onboard and separating their own food waste at home, public separation will become much more natural.
