Are we having more hurricanes and tropical storms than usual?
We are having an average year as compared to other hurricane seasons in the past. Some of the worst hurricane seasons happened during the cold climate of the little ice age. The period during the late 1960s to early 1990s was one of the weakest hurricane eras in the past 270 years, so the recent increase is just a return to normal hurricane activity.
