Are Washingtonians Wimpy About Snow?
Are Washingtonians Wimpy About Snow? Wednesday January 28, 2009President Barack Obama made a comment today about school closings in Washington, DC saying that we, residents of the Washington, DC area, are “soft” and that we should “toughen up” like people who live in Chicago when dealing with winter weather. I’d have to agree with him that our schools seem to close awfully easily and local drivers do not handle driving well in snow and ice. However, Chicago residents have more experience coping with harsh weather and the budget for clearing the roads is much greater there so they are probably more effective at keeping the roads safe. So, what do you think, are Washingtonians wimpy about dealing with snowy weather? Related Washington, DC Traffic Reports SchoolsOut.com Comments (0)See All Posts
