Are washable nappies as efficient as disposable nappies?
It’s a myth that reusable nappies leak. If they fit properly, a reusable nappy is no more likely to leak than an average disposable. In fact, a well-fitting washable will give even better protection than a disposable nappy. We can almost guarantee that at some point your nappies will leak, whether you choose to use washables or disposables. Many people find that it takes them a few attempts to find the best way to put a nappy on their baby. Once you are used to washables they become as easy to change as disposables and they do not leak. If you find that a previously reliable nappy suddenly starts to leak it may be time to progress to the next size or it may be that some extra absorbency is required. As long as you have well fitting waterproof covers, real nappies will not leak any more than disposables. You can increase their absorbency by using a booster pad.
