Are Volunteers required to join the Institute for Learning?

0

There is no obligation on volunteers to register however there will be a benefit to them in doing so and establishing a presence within the Institute which will develop and support individual and collective professionalism. All members of the Institute are required to undertake CPD. The amount of CPD members must complete is pro-rata according to the number of teaching hours they carry out per week and to a minimum of 6 hours. Where members do not teach, the minimum still applies. It is important to note that only those required to join the Institute will have their membership fees funded by the government.
