Are virtual universities the future of learner-centered education?
I should probably clarify – by “virtual” I mean more than CBT delivered over networks where time and space are irrelevant. I’m mostly referring to 3D virtual worlds in which your avatar interacts in real-time with other “real” people (as avatars). I see debates happening as easily as in RL, and I have heard that participation among students in a virtual setting is higher than in RL classes; apparently students overcome many social barriers when they are in less judgmental, more democratic environments like virtual worlds. –> Just a thought! <-- I appreciate everyone's answers.
