Currently, most states in the U.S. allow for the sale and installation of vent-free supplemental gas heat appliances. Local codes may vary. Note that Massachusetts requires Board of State Examiners of Plumbers approval before installation. KOZY-WORLD’s approval code is G1-1104-48. Also, California does not currently permit the use of vent-free gas heaters.
