Are vaccines still necessary?
Although several of the diseases that vaccines prevent have been dramatically reduced or eliminated, vaccines are still necessary. Vaccines are given for 3 reasons: 1) To prevent common infections 2) To prevent infections that could easily re-emerge. 3) To prevent infections common in other parts of the world.
