Are UUNETs Web servers reliable?
Our Network Operations Center (NOC) is staffed and operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our NOC engineers are constantly looking at the output from our monitoring systems to identify outages and, where possible, to identify and rectify potential outages before they happen. Our on-duty NOC team always consists of at least one senior engineer, in addition to several staff engineers, to guarantee that the level of expertise you need is always at hand. We currently have two levels of monitoring taking place for our servers. ICMP monitoring (ping) for the server hardware is done every three minutes, and is watched by the NOC. HTTP port monitoring, for each Web server on each machine, is done every five minutes, and a notification message is sent when any port doesn’t respond.
