Are used car seats a good bargain?
• No! A new seat is likely to be safer than a used one. Used seats are often missing instructions or parts and are not safe to use. Avoid seats that are older than 6 years. Car Safety Basics • Buckle up all children under age 13 in the BACK SEAT. • Choose a car seat that fits the child. • Use the car seat instructions and vehicle owners manual for help installing and adjusting a seat correctly. • Make sure the care seat is installed tightly in the vehicle (except boosters). • Adjust the harness to be snug. • Have the installation checked by a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician if you have questions.
