Are US High Schools Lacking – Losing International Competitiveness in Future US Innovation?
Many believe that the US is falling far behind where we need to be in education if we are to globally compete in the future. In fact, the Rand Think Tank did a study recently showing how dangerously behind we are in the math and sciences, and projected this into the future. Scary stuff indeed. But not all people feel this way, one educator who recently contacted the Online Think Tank stated: “As far as international competitiveness, I reviewed a few papers about students using technology to share problems with math and how to overcome them.” Yes, this is of interest and yet, I have a question for folks who go with this line of thinking; the issue of cheating. Do you feel that if kids in Western Cultures share information freely like this, that this might lead them to seek others out to do their work for them, cheat or plagiarize work later in life?
