Are types of fireworks legal in Canberra Australia?

0

The only place in Australia where fireworks can legally be bought and used by the average citizen is in the Northern Territory. On July 1st each year, many NT stores stock the fireworks so Territorians can celebrate Territory Day. (Celebration of the NT gaining self government). All fireworks must be set off during the legal hours between 6 PM and Midnight on that day, and that day only. Possession of fireworks on any day except July First is an offence and carries huge fines. For the average Joe, fireworks are illegal everywhere else in Australia. If you possess them at any other location (like in Canberra) you risk being arrested and prosecuted.
