Are turtles easy to care for?

Turtles make great pets. They are easy to care for, just feed them and clean the aquarium once every about two to three months. The lifespan can be very long, if cared for properly, or very short, if ignored. Adult turtles may eat cooked meat, shrimp, worfat ms, or crickets. They can also eat flowers of many kinds, such as dandelions and roses, Lettuce, finely chopped veggies. I have had a few turtles, and myy experience is that they loved to climb. We had alot of old bricks, and we stacked them in the side of our aquarium.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!! I have two that I purchased as tiny babies three years ago. They are now each about 10 inches and dirty. I take care of them, keep them clean, but it is a full time job. They are wild animals and belong in a river, but I can not do it since they were born indoors. They would be dead in a day. The people who sold them to me said that if I kept them in a 10 gallon tank, they would not grow out of it. A BIG LIE !!!! They need filters, a basking lamp and a heater. They also told me that they would live 10 years. LIE !!!!!!!!!! They live 40. I don’t know what I am going to do. Don’t do it. People should not be selling them. They are wild and belong outside. I now have a 50 gallon tank and they are out growing that. If someone is trying to tell you that they will live for years in a tiny tank, they are grossly missinformed.

turtles are quite hard to care for as they get dirty and very smelly and tanks need to be cleaned regularly
