Are Triops safe for elementary school children?

0

Absolutely. As mentioned above, they cannot harm even the smallest person, so biting is not a problem. The only potential harm could come from drinking the water that they live in. Their water can have pretty high bacterial counts (bacteria is part of what they eat), and so drinking their water would not be wise. Neither would eating a meal after sticking one’s hands in the water. There is no know disease transmitted by Triops , but it is always best to minimize one’s contact with bacteria whenever possible.
