Are transfer students required to take the CPT/PERT?

0

Transfer students who have successfully completed a college English course are exempt from the sentence skills portion of the CPT and the writing portion of the PERT. Likewise, students who have successfully completed a college mathematics course are exempt from the mathematics portion of these tests. Students who have successfully completed college reading courses at another institution are exempt from the reading portion of the CPT and PERT. These students are placed in courses based on their transfer credit, not their test scores. They must work with Enrollment Services advisors and counselors to determine placement until transfer credits are evaluated by the Registrar’s Office. Transfer students who have not successfully completed an English, math and/or reading course must take the CPT/PERT in the applicable subject(s).
