Are toys a waste of money (exposition/expository essay)?
toys pro: -children learn through play -spark the Imagination -can make us laugh and laughter is healthy -can be soothing to a frightened child (like a stuffed animal) -express love and friendship when we give a child a toy -toys can be made from things one already has and cost no money at all cons: -may contain parts that child can choke on, or hurt (the toy heats up and burns the child), or contain toxic chemicals -can be detrimental to the environment to make and ship them -the money may be better spent on , say, health care, or eyeglasses, for the child -children do not need toys “made” for them..they can make their own out of what they have (like a cardboard box)
