Are timber-frame structures more or less expensive to build than masonry equivalents?
In truth, they are about the same, but the move toward greater use of timber frame has more to do with the above points than anything to do with the cost of the build. As with most things, you get what you pay for, but with timber frame you will be able to get a better insulated, more airtight, ‘greener’ and more sustainable house for your money.
