Are Thoosa motors set up to regenerate under sail?
Yes, regeneration is done by letting the propeller turn while sailing and using the motor as a dynamo. This is accomplished by putting the motor in the slow forward position. The speed achieved by wind power that exceeds the motor power set by the throttle is the amount of power that is regenerated. However, not all boats are able to achieve regeneration due to the size of the boat, the keel design, the boat’s slip factor, as well as the prop size and pitch.
