Are they ever going to make another Matrix film?
The real problem with making another Matrix movie is the conflict from the original movies has been resolved – the enslavement of humans and the machine assault on Zion. In order for them to make another movie, it would require a contrived plot which somehow brought back dead characters. In short it would be a sequel for the sake of a sequel and that is exactly what is wrong with most Hollywood sequels. I think The Animatrix was the perfect way to deal with some of the untold stories from The Matrix universe. That format would probably work well for some other stories which could conceivably fill in some gaps related to the resolution of the story and what happened afterwards.
