Well, I can understand why you might not be sure, but I would have to say that he most likely has at least a little crush on you. Personally I would never throw a girl a surprise birthday party unless I wanted to be more than friends. He is probably just afraid to come out and just say it since the two of you have been just friends for so long. Also, I’ve drawn pictures for girls I liked before and let me tell you, it takes a really really long time. No one is going to put that much time into a gift unless they are extremely bored, or they like you as more than a friend. You have to think about the person you are drawing or the person you are giving the drawings to the entire time you are making them. Either way it sounds like you have a great relationship. I know you may be nervous to put that relationship in jeopardy by trying to become more than friends, but by the sounds of it, he will either feel the same way, or at least be kind enough to explain that he doesn’t and will want to
