Are there UCSC campus staff members who officially assist with visas?
Some university employees are called the PDSO, DSO, RO and ARO. They are authorized to enter information into the SEVIS database for students and scholars with F-1 and J-1 visas. They produce and sign the official eligibility documents to sponsor students (Form I-20 for F-1 visa) and scholars (Form DS-2019 for J-1 visa). They also ensure campus compliance with government requirements for sponsoring students and scholars on these visas.
