Yes, graduate students serve as TAs for some classes, conducting what are called “discussion sections.” In general, professors teach the lecture section of a class twice a week and teaching assistants augment the lecture with a discussion once a week. What is a minor? A minor consists of a coordinated set of courses (seven or more) which together take a student well beyond the introductory level in an academic field, subject matter, and/or discipline but which are not sufficient to constitute a major.
