The DVR HDD is physically secured in the device by a key. The administrator also has the ability to grant limited access to secondary users. If the user does not have this access to delete or format the drive (or any function that may threaten the information stored on the drive) it is nearly impossible for the user to affect the video files recorded on the drive. We recommend that any agency limit the user access rights so as to remove the officer from liability regarding the video files. Once the hard drive is installed into the docking station it is available to any computer user depending on the security limitation of that PC. The key to keeping the data safe is the KEY.
