Are there specific styles of attacks, such as special moves or critical hits?
Yes! In addition to each characters base attack, players will have several specialized lines of special abilities that he/she can learn by spending ability points (gained through combat experience). These abilities can range from things like damaging spells and attacks, to negative spells like debuffs and root effects, to beneficial buffs and heals. Youll also be able to go into defensive mode while fighting by pressing and holding the right mouse button. While in this mode, your character will adopt a defensive stance, gaining a significant defensive bonus against standard attacks, as well as a chance to block certain Special Abilities. You can also add extra effects or strengthen the existing effects of your special abilities by using combos, or by spending momentum to charge up your attacks.
