Are there specific “freshman” halls?
Yes, first year students will be primarily housed in Garcia Hall and Monagle Hall or Piñón Hall. If space is available, first year students may be assigned to Rhodes-Garrett-Hamiel upon request. We have partnered with several different academic areas to offer very intentional academic support for first-year students in the form of living/learning communities. Recently opened in Garcia Hall the La Vista Learning Lounge was designed specifically to provide academic and social support for first year students. Peer mentoring, student group meetings and other programmatic activities also occur specifically for freshman students in our residence halls.
