Are there special rules for hiring a UW retiree?
• YES. In general, a convincing case must be made to Human Resources as to why a UW retiree should be hired rather than a non-retiree, e.g. does the retiree offer a specialized knowledge that other applicants do not? Furthermore, there are restrictions to the number of hours a hired UW retiree may work. The restrictions vary based on the retirement plan used by the retired candidate.
