The On-The Job Training (OJT) Program offers eligible military veterans an alternative way to use their Veterans Administration (GI Bill) education and training benefits while employed by the New York City Department of Correction. Eligible Probationary Correction Officers are entitled to receive monthly monetary benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs for up to two years, in addition to their regular salary, while employed as probationary officer.
