Are there special instructions or rules about final arrangements of deceased wards?
Guardianship law is silent on final arrangements. Follow social service rules for remains of public beneficiaries. Cremation is not prohibited. Conduct services and burial in consideration of the wards personal, ethnic, cultural or religious preferences to the extent they are known and to the extent that personal funds or county responsibility allow. When possible, address arrangements beforehand. If family is present and involved, families may make final arrangements or direct arrangements as they prefer.
