Are there situations when a LTC setting would no longer be able to offer care to someone?

This does or may happen but only in the case of behavioural concerns that pose a safety risk to other residents, families or staff. Our LTC residences attempt to manage these situations at the home level first; only if all avenues and resources are not working would they proceed to transfer the resident to hospital and/or another facility where they can be properly assessed and treated.
