Are there sharks in lakes?
There are over 200 species of sharks. Of course only five species are considered man-eaters and of those only three of them are known to actually attack people on a regular basis. Most species of sharks are very small and live in both salt and fresh water. Some fish that are kept in people’s aquariums are actually species of shark although they go by a different common name. Of the three top man-eating sharks, only the Bull shark has been known to actually leave salt water and venture up stream into fresh water. One boy in Africa was killed by a bull shark around twenty miles inland. Although this very seldom happens, it can happen under the right circumstances. As far as the lakes and rivers question, it really depends on where you live. Some continents are known for certain dangers over other ones. For instance, there are alligators and crocodiles, but if you live in the U.S. north of Georgia for example, then you shouldn’t have anything to fear. I would worry about microscopic bater
