Are there Sexual Assault Response Coordinators in a deployed environment?
Yes, the Air Force identifies trained military SARCs (and/or trained civilian SARCs who volunteer) for Air Expeditionary Force rotational support for global contingency operations. Normally, each Air Expeditionary Wing will warrant at least one SARC requirement. For deployments smaller than an AEF, deployed commanders must provide a sexual assault response capability consistent with the requirements of AFI 36-6001, “Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program”.
