My opinion on a promise ring: They are completely silly. I just don’t understand the purpose of them. In my book, there are 4 major stages of dating. There is the beginning of the relationship. You are getting to know each other, figure out what you want out of the relationship, you establish your roles and how you act towards one another. Then, there is the second stage. This is when you realize you want a serious, committed relationship with this person. You understand this person is “The One” You understand your relationship will probably result in marriage. You date each other and are staples in each others lives. You are a couple and everyone knows that. But, you just might not be 100% ready to get married, BUT emotionally the committed is there. The third step, you are finally ready to start setting concrete plans for marriage. You are ready to move in together, set a date, plan a wedding and become a Mr. and Mrs. This is the engagement and this is when you are given a ring. The
