Are there round freshwater pearls?
In the past, there were almost no perfectly round freshwater pearl beads. The closest you could find were off round. Recently, however, the Chinese have had some success in using nucleating techniques to create perfectly round freshwater pearls that rival traditional saltwater pearls. Pearl prices increase dramatically as the pearls are more round and perfect.
