Are there restrictions to items that are mailed to individuals?
All incoming mail is inspected for contraband before delivery. Contraband includes but is not limited to cash, personal checks, stamps, stamped envelopes, smoking products, adhesives, metal, plastic, sound chips, or any unusual device or decoration that may pose a security risk. Additionally, mail may not contain more than three photographs, 10 pages, or photocopies of pages from books or magazines. Mail containing contraband is returned to the sender and the inmate is notified. Packages must be approved in advance by the Assistant Facility Administrator and must be sent to his attention by way of U.S. Mail. Any package not addressed in this manner or containing unauthorized items will be returned. Books must be mailed directly from the publisher. Books mailed from bookstores will be returned.
