Are there restrictions on the shipment or storage of celluloid?

At present, we cannot ship celluloid by mail; instead, we use UPS. This is not likely to be an issue with most North American customers, yet it does add considerably to shipping costs elsewhere. We are currently looking into more economical overseas shipment methods, but it may take some time to integrate them fully into our online shopping cart system. If you are finding overseas shipping costs excessive, please contact us – we should be able to help. While most states and municipalities in the USA do not regulate the storage of small quantities of celluloid, it is up to the buyer to check and comply with all applicable laws and regulations. It is certainly prudent to keep celluloid in a fireproof or fire-resistant enclosure, as is routinely done for solvents and other flammable liquids, especially if a significant quantity is being stockpiled.
