There are no licenses or registrations for importing. However, if your business plans to import goods for the purpose of reselling to a wholesaler or retailer, contact the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol at 877-227-5511 for further guidance. Additionally, your business will need to register with the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services for the sales and use tax (resale number). Contact the agency at 1-800-382-9463 or 860-297-5962. Most book stores and libraries provide books on importing into the U.S.
